KALEIDOSCOPES

These Kaleidoscops Squares are inspired by the fracturing of colored chips as seen through a kaleidoscope. First, paintings using colored lines and fills against a black background were drawn in Painter Classic. Vividly contrasting colors and varied width of lines were used.

Then we opened the painting in Photoshop, surrounded a triangular section with the polygon marquee, copied/pasted and rotated the section to assemble the final kaleidoscope square. If we selected a triangle from another part of the painting, a completely different kaleidoscope could be made. We hope you enjoy these bright, stunning images.

Watch for a PDF of our written instructions for this project to be posted here soon.
